Dr. Tony has an immense respect for natural medicine and the innate healing ability of the human body. In fact, it was during his own struggle to overcome Lyme disease that he came to experience the power and effectiveness of natural medicine. When he found himself relapsing with Lyme disease after 8 months of antibiotic treatment, he made some radical lifestyle changes, integrated natural therapeutics and slowly rehabilitated Himself. This journey was the impetus that drove him to the study of naturopathic medicine at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
While science and technology has led to great strides in improving patient outcomes in many areas of medicine, Dr. Tony is gravely concerned that the fundamentals of good health are falling by the wayside and that many people are suffering unnecessarily as a result. He cautions his patients against the allure of the quick fix with pills and prescription drugs since he believes the most effective and longest lasting results are achieved through dietary and lifestyle approaches. He considers himself a partner with his patients in their healing process and he strives to educate them so they can make informed healthcare decisions for themselves. Most importantly, he aspires to be compassionate, nonjudgmental and flexible in his practice.
Dr. Tony loves nature and the outdoors and it is in nature that he feels closest to the divine. He enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing and snowboarding. He loves the higher view of the majestic peaks of the northwest and his wife makes sure he doesn’t forget to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the ocean shores. Dr. Tony and his wife love taking road trips to explore the national parks.
